Community Engagement Spotlight: Nurses Appreciation Week Partnership

Community engagement marketing works best when brands stop simply advertising and start genuinely serving the communities around them. That philosophy was the driving force behind a recent collaborative project we developed between Driscoll Children’s Hospital and Mazda of Corpus Christi for National Nurses Appreciation Week.

After meeting with Mazda of Corpus Christi General Manager Michael Palmer, we discussed ways the dealership could create a meaningful community activation that went beyond traditional sponsorships or giveaways. Nurses work incredibly hard, often sacrificing personal time while caring for others, so we wanted to build an experience that would make their lives easier while also creating positive brand engagement for the dealership.

The concept we developed combined two ideas: providing lunch for hospital nurses and introducing a concierge oil change program specifically designed for healthcare workers. Through the program, Mazda of Corpus Christi offered to pick up nurses’ vehicles directly from the hospital while they were working, complete the oil change service at the dealership, and return the vehicles before the end of their shift. The initiative eliminated the inconvenience of scheduling vehicle maintenance around demanding work hours and positioned the dealership as a business focused on service in every sense of the word.

Our team at 360 Impressions coordinated the project from concept to execution. We created the campaign branding materials, coordinated logistics, worked with the caterer, and attended the event onsite at the hospital. Every detail was designed to create a polished, community-focused experience that aligned both organizations around appreciation, convenience, and genuine support for local healthcare professionals.

The response from the nurses and hospital staff was overwhelmingly positive. Beyond the immediate goodwill created at the event, the activation also provided Mazda of Corpus Christi with a creative and strategic way to drive new traffic into the dealership through a service-based campaign that felt authentic rather than promotional.

Projects like this demonstrate how community engagement marketing can strengthen relationships, elevate brand perception, and create meaningful local impact all at the same time. At 360 Impressions, we believe the best campaigns are the ones that connect businesses to people in ways that are memorable, thoughtful, and genuinely beneficial to the community they serve.
